Shaun Kjelstrom
President, Principal Engineer, and part-owner

Shaun Kjelstrom received a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2006.  He also obtained a MBA from Southern New Hampshire University in 2017.  After graduating from BYU, he started work with County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works (2007-2008).  In 2008, he joined Kjelstrom & Associates, Inc.  In 2015, Kjelstrom & Associates, Inc. closed its doors to pursue different endeavors.  During that time, Shaun Kjelstrom worked for CEMEX in the Southern California Ready Mix division as the Director of Engineering.  In 2017, he decided to reopen Kjelstrom & Associates, Inc. 

Since starting with Kjelstrom & Associates, Inc, Shaun Kjelstrom has become very familiar with the construction materials industry, especially in Southern California.  He has become familiar with CEQA, NEPA, MSHA, SMARA, building codes, and many other regulations.  He has also become very familiar with industry standards and norms, which help in the engineering design process. 

 

Kit Kjelstrom

Kit Kjelstrom received a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in Mathematics in 1977, a Masters of Civil Engineering (Structures) from University of Utah in 1979 and a Masters of Business (Finance) from California State University, Los Angeles in 1987.  He began his professional  career with the City Of Salt Lake Engineering Department in 1978, moved to Boeing in Seattle in 1980, then to C.F. Braun Engineering in Alhambra, CA. in 1981.  Kit joined Conrock in Los Angeles in 1984 (later to be renamed CalMat, and then later purchased by Vulcan Materials).  In 1989, he joined Owl Rock Products and then formed his own company in 1995.
